LineRoom
An AI-assisted songwriting workspace designed to help songwriters develop their lyric writing craft without outsourcing the creative act.

Problem
Most generative AI songwriting tools attempt to generate creative material for the songwriter. LineRoom takes the opposite approach: preserve human authorship while using AI to provide structured feedback and remove friction from the writing process.
Solution
Phase Space designed and engineered an end-to-end songwriting workspace combining lyric writing, voice notes, writing utilities, structured critique, and AI-assisted analysis in a cohesive product experience.
Approach
- Human-first AI product philosophy: the songwriter remains the author.
- Product and interaction design for a focused writing environment.
- Structured AI evaluation and critique rather than generative replacement.
- Rapid iteration based on real-world usage.
- End-to-end product ownership, from architecture through deployment.
Technical implementation
LineRoom is a full-stack product: a lyric editor and workspace, voice-note capture, cloud-saved pieces with version history, workshop chat, and a structured critique pipeline with evaluation in the loop. The system was built as a production web application with authentication, billing, and a mobile client — not a disposable demo.
Outcome
LineRoom shipped as a functioning product. Songwriters can draft, revise, record, and receive structured feedback in one workspace, with AI used to support the writing process rather than replace it.
